Allard J2X
engine build | race support | fabrication | paint
Initially, this racing car came to us to have a full Chrysler Firepower 331 Hemi engine built with Rochester 2G carburettors. The build involved the blueprinting and balancing of all the engine components and extensive head work, including port matching, and flowing. Additionally, we designed custom inlet manifolds and manufactured these in house. The Rochester 2G carburettors needed modification, which we completed, followed by extensive dyno tuning on our rollers. The 1938 LeSalle 3 speed gearbox was also fully rebuilt and modifications were made. These modifications included the shortening and re-machining of the output shaft and the casing machined to accept a Ford Model A torque tube coupler. Fabrication wise, our team created the bonnet scoop which is faithful to the original, seamlessly repaired accident damage and fabricated period correct brake cooling ducks. Our Body shop completed a full respray of the bonnet and roundels. We continually provide extensive race preparation and support for our customer, who is keen to race more regularly.

Project Heaven has managed; advised on and ultimately built my Allard J2X Le Mans ready for racing in the 2022 season.
They have conducted extensive research to optimise the mechanical and design options and miraculously staying within budget and getting FIA HTP papers for the car. The broad range of knowledge on many marques and their ability to conduct research where necessary as well as their extensive race support experience make them a “one-stop shop” that is difficult to beat.
